Developing your child's early reading skills

There are many things that you can do at home to help your child to develop their language and understanding, the building blocks for developing their reading skills.
In pre-school the children follow Phase 1 of the Letters and Sounds phonics framework. During this time they take part in many activities and games that develop different areas of their language - from naming environmental sounds to recognising rhythm and rhymes.
Please read the information leaflets below to see some of the things you could do at home to continue your child's development in this.
Also take a minute to watch Mrs Allen and pre-school taking part in one of these sessions.
