World Book Day 2016
We have had an excellent time celebrating World Book Day this year. We must say a big thank you to all adults at home who helped with costumes for the children, they looked super.
During the day children had a chance to share their favourite reads with their friends. In the morning the children also 'buddied up' to read with children from another class, this was a fantastic chance for children to interact with their peers, many of the children showed excellent patience, communication skills and care for the children that they worked with.
As well as buddy reading, each class had the oppoertunity to 'take reading into their community'. This involved the children going to different areas in Penzance to listen to books and share stories. Many places were visited including; the beach, the promenade, the tennis courts and the sandy park.
In the afternoon classes took part in different activities such as paired writing, creating displays for the library and creating a display for the new town library.
Throughout the day each class ran a performance poetry competition with the winners performing in assembly on Friday!
